QGen (USA) Inc. as well as BTU Industries Holdings USA, Inc. (if those companies actually exist - we'll post more info from the latest Betancourt court filing on November 16th) have a combined total of [ ]??? direct employees. Probably about the same as Betancourt claimed (in his affidavit) were working for BTU Ventures, Inc. when he joined "BTU" in 2007. 12 or 10 or 9 or 11 or???
Yet Wael's companies have always paid for a part-time or full-time travel agent. Why? It's very EXPENSIVE to have a part-time or full-time travel agent on your payroll when you have just a "handful" of people that travel. Only REAL companies, with VOLUMINOUS employees and VOLUMINOUS travel requirements can afford these kinds of things.
Why do we bring this up? Someone that is very proud of their employer's identity has changed the name of said employer to "Private Company" just recently. Why does this happen? People that have "served" Wael unquestioningly are deciding (or are being told) that they work(ed) for a "nameless boss at a nameless company". Why not shout out to the world that you work(ed) for a "careful steward" of investors moneys who also happens to be the "Entrepreneur of the Year (award from Ernst&Young) in the Energy Category for the New England region for the Year 2006. If any of us had worked for Steve Jobs we certainly would not hesitate for a second to mention that fact. Well, Steve Jobs did not save the world from "planetary collapse" the way Wael Al Mazeedi is doing so at this very moment, courtesy of the BTU Power Company investors' dividends.
Getting Back on Track
We could write an entire separate blog on Wael Al Mazeedi's "travels". Needless to say, secrecy and subterfuge and "clean underwear" have always been paramount to HIM. He figures that a travel agent that is directly under his control will always do exactly as he commands. This means that, for example, the travel agent would always be willing to lie to all of Wael's employees, "business partners", etc. when someone asked the question "Where is Wael ? - When will he be back?" and tell people that Wael would be gone for the "next couple of weeks" on some kind of 25 city Asia/Europe tour (meeting investors that would pour 100s of $ millions into QlownGen or BTU Industries,or Whatever...). When, in actuality, Wael was "hiding" at his mom's place somewhere in Kuwait City the whole time.
Trixie Pendrix was "kind" enough to identify her employer in previous Linked-In profiles. However, she has now morphed into a "manager at Private Company" . She was clearly a travel agent for Wael in her previous profiles. What gives, Trixie??? Why go "cloak and dagger" on everybody?

Wael kept/keeps a travel agent for secrecy because he thought that Hyat had a contract takenout on him. His paranoia got the best of himi and investors pay to provide himi with a travel agent that won't disclose his where abouts.
Ande Lyons once spoke to the company about the need for "secrecy" about Wael's travel plans. Being told to speak to us by Wael she mentioned that his life could be in danger if anyone spoke about his travel plans. We were told that the energy business is a very competitive business and some nasty players inthe energy field might want to take the opportunity to remove a world leader like Wael from the competitive landscape.
Total horse$h!t. He was afraid that Hyat was going to have him killed, that is the real reason for all of the clean underwear!
We were told that even ASKING about Wael's travel plans could be cause for termination. We had to let Christina or Ian, his trusted sidekicks, know what we needed from Wael and she would get back to us with an answer. But we were never to ask about where he was or when he would return.
Stephanie, the prior trvael person, was always professional and loyal. Even if you happened to ask where Wael was, she would say "you know I can't tell you, I'd lose my job".
Fear ruled at BTU. Employees feared asking and Wael feared anyone knowing. He would always change plans several times so as to keep the internal "spies" from truly knowing his plans. He paid THOUSANDS of dollars for last minute first class plane tickets for himself and those who traveled with him.
HUGE waste of money changing flight/hotel plans and paying top dollar for last minute plans. This is why he needed his own travel person, he always changed his plans, every city he went to he changed his flight to keep Hyat and the alleged hitmen off of his trail. Wael is still alive, wearing clean underwear, so his plan has worked... so far.
I'm sure we've all done things in our life that we'd like to forget about! Have you considered that a former employee just might not want to be linked in any way to WAM/BTU/Clown-Gen? Or maybe wants to avoid having to answer questions about all the stuff that people are reading about on this blog... especially during a job interview? I also believe that on-line resumes and Linked-in profiles are searchable and a former employee's identity would certainly come up if someone were to Google WAM, BTU, QGen or anything else mentioned here. Is it worth the risk of possibly being blackballed for a new job for simply being associated with WAM? He doesn't exactly have a lot of supporters out there.
Anybody that has worked for/with WAM might find themselves in a moral and professional conundrum in the near future.
Is the question "Is it worth the risk of possibly being blackballed...? related to:
1. Having being associated with WAM in any way, shape or form?
2. Continuing to be associated with WAM at this point?
3. Choosing to be associated with WAM in the future?
4. Having implicitly or explicitly assisted WAM in actions that will "smell wrong" to any outside observer no matter how you try to couch them (e.g. spending the investors money on bogus business activities, trying to transfer their assets to WAM's personal company, etc.)
There are people like Mr. Commodore who have described their affiliation with WAM, on record, in US Federal Court pleadings. The truthfulness of these has already been discussed in these blogs. That truthfulness will further be tested and questioned shortly in open court. Mr. Commodore no doubt was taking the chance that nothing would reach the stage where his participation in WAM's activities would be questioned.
If none of these open forums (the blogs) existed then the only thing the "world" would know about WAM's track record would be based, almost exclusively, on HIS press and news releases, fake blogs, paid sponsorships at various MIT events, various industry events where he paid to speak, etc. On this basis one could go into a job interview and state that they worked for the "world's leading developer, owner, and operator hybrid solar power and desalination plants (controlling 18 plants with 10,000s of MW, etc.)" That would look good on the resume and sound good in the interview. But it would be a lie - it would be the perpetuation of WAM's lies.
So would it be better to be able to "lie" and look and smell good (assuming nobody knew the "truth" about WAM) or tell the truth and look and smell good (now that people know much more about WAM).
There are many people that WAM and his lawyers have vilified in their court proceedings in the Caymans Islands, and US Federal Court and Massachusetts state court. They've been called the worst of the worst. They've had to deal with that for years since only WAM's side of the story was ever heard (thousands of pages of court documents).
I think the questions anybody should be able to answer comfortably in job interview settings (or any other kind of situation where WAM and his empire come up) are:
What did you know?
When did you know about it?
What did you do about it?
BTW. To revisit a trite concept.
Lies need to be continually "fed" in order for them to keep on living. Lies of the magnitude in question (10s or 100s of millions of dollars) need the active involvement of several very dedicated disciples as well as other people who are not disciples but are nonetheless very willing participants.
People who've worked for wael can just point anybody that asks any questions about WAM and his empire to WAM's latest and greatest website. Don't forget about this one!

I know another person that will destroy all his "Stories" but he knows he is under oath! He career is on the line. He is a young lawyer and will crack until being in the Federal Court House for the first time. He has never be a lawyer in ANY FEDERAL Courthouse. Get ready to the tears!

Yeah. That's actually the point. Who cares where he is now and who's cared in the past where he was? Wael is suspicious of his own shadow and the sound of his footsteps. All this BS secrecy and twists and turns regarding his location and travel was done not because of the people he's made out to be his enemies. They are likely not evil or even nefarious. They are likely no different than anybody else you'd meet in the business world. Come on! This is not Goodfellas or The Godfather. Wael is worried because there are lots and lots of little, medium, and big "things" (i.e. $$$) that he's wanted to keep from surfacing and from being held accountable (e.g. $86 million in unaccounted-for expenses in BTU Power II, $15 million in expenses for QGEN, $29 million in start-up expenses for BTU Power, $8 million consulting contracted for his "sevices" negotiated between himself and himself, $9 million loan from BTU Power Company investors to the manager, etc. etc. etc.
Some people reading this post might recollect that around the time Hayat visited the Waltham office in early 2008 Wael hired multiple security guards that were providing 24 hr protection to the office for what seemed like months. On the day Hayat arrived he had 3 or 4 rent-a-cops at various posts throughout the office.
Using the Steve Jobs example from the blog post, Jobs probably never had a security detail that large... he was always speaking at very public events with 100s if not 1000s of people. And Steve Jobs actually did have brilliant ideas and plans as was a real world leader and had tons of competitors from multiple industries and brought apple back from the brink to make it the 1st or 2nd largest company in the US by market capitalization. Come on, give us a break Wael!
And yeah, I also agree about the timing. 3 to 6 months. Lots of things will start converging and it won't matter how many more millions of the Middle East investors dollars he keeps on spending on lawyers.

If former employees knew nothing then ....they knew nothing. But if they knew something was amiss and still chose to be linked to Wael then that is different. For good or bad, you can't erase your past.

How can you be so sure he will show up. There are many places the investor's $$$ can take him that are out of reach of the courts. Remember, these are civil suits - not criminal.
A plane ticket is much cheaper and less painful than being dragged through court.

Wael and Faisal can't be talking about anything other than the continuation of playing "keep away" with the Middle East investors' money.
Everybody in the world knows damned well by now that "BTU" and Wael have not been associated with raising even one single penny of new equity since 1st Qtr 2005 (when the original seller's loan from PSEG came due). In a couple of months it will be 7 solid years of ZERO new investors or investment.
Wael couldn't even raise a penny when he had Meiya power and was going all over the world with his dog & pony show regarding the Meiya IPO and the billions of dollars everybody was going to make. He defaulted on the loan he took out to acquire Meiya 3 or 4 times before he pulled off his shenanigans with the help of Standard Chartered bank. They got a cheap asset and he got millions for himself.
So, no. Wael and Faisal are not having any conferences or discussions regarding the "business".
Faisal Khan has been around Wael Almazeedi from the very beginning of BTU. Faisal's fingerprints are all over Wael Almazeedi's actions. Motive for Faisal's actions are two: self preservation and continuing to line his pockets.
Whatever FATE awaits Wael is also going to be the same for Faisal. Only question is? Will he go down with the ship or save his skin and "squeal" on Wael.
I've heard Wael showed up in Japan and looking into help Fukushima area for re-development. Maybe searching to establish new investment projects for survival.
