Alex Ucciferri: He COMPLETES Wael Al Mazeedi. In other words, he is the link between BTU Ventures, Inc., BTU Industries Holdings (USA) Inc., and QGEN (USA) Inc. Who is Alex and what is he doing?

This post has been re-worded as it seemingly was a source of some confusion to some readers.

BACKGROUND
We made reference to the fact that there was seemingly only one employee left (in addition to Faisal Khan) with "institutional knowledge" regarding:
  • BTU Ventures, Inc.
  • BTU Industries Holdings (USA) Inc.
  • QGEN (USA) Inc.
The troika of companies listed above (based in Massachusetts, USA) has been used by Wael Al Mazeedi to manage funds that invested in power and desalination plants (BTU Power Company: TAPCO and CPC) and (until 2007, BTU Power Company II: Meiya) on behalf of investors based exclusively in the Middle East.

People have posted elsewhere in this blog regarding recent layoffs (presumably at 890 Winter St, Suite 310, Waltham, Massachusetts).  There has been speculation as to how many people are actually left at that location.  QGEN as well as FATE Consortium are headquartered at that location.  BTU Ventures, if it still exists, has no known headquarters.

The part of our previous statement that read something to the effect that "... seemingly only one employee left (in addition to..." did not imply that the total number of employees remaining in Wael Al Mazeedi's companies = 2.  The statement meant to imply that there is only one employee, in addition to F. Khan, with first hand knowledge of Wael Al Mazeedi and his operations.

ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND
Some people have stated in their comments that Alex Ucciferri (Controller) and Faisal Khan (COO or something similar) are "good guys" or "nice guys" or something similar.  We have no doubt that both individuals may be extremely pleasant.  However, we are only interested in discussing their roles in Wael Al Mazeedi's business empire.  We think those roles have been, and continue to be, significant.

We will make it clear up front that:
  1. Faisal Khan has been Wael Al Mazeedi's right hand man since the inception of "BTU" more than a decade ago.  Nevertheless, Faisal is a nice guy.
  2. Alex Ucciferri has been handling the "books" for Wael Al Mazeedi's multiple incarnations of US-based companies.  Taking a quick look at Alex's LinkedIn profile you'll immediately notice his accomplishments at Ventures, Industries, QGEN.  At the very least he knows were the cash has been coming from and where it's ending up.  Nevertheless, Alex is a nice guy.

We still have the Graphics Department too. That means Brad and contractor Judy. (since both their cars are still arriving in the parking lot.

Alex and his dark sunglasses. I guess he like to hide.

Alex is a good guy, just stuck in a shitty job, without any future.

It is just a job for him. As long as he gets paid, what does he care.

Poor taste going after Alex. Also, I think, a pack of lies that he and Faisal are the last employees. Reports were that half of employees were let go, not that only two were left.
Bloggers should get their facts straight or you are just a lier like Wael.
Whatever problems you may have with Alex he is a decent person. Anger at Wael leads many on this blog to insult all who have ever worked at BTU. Don't lower yourself to Wael's level of anger and incrimination.
Alex is not a strategist or a key clog in the BTU wheel. He handles the basic accounting role, using QuickbBooks, I think.
Imagine that a global energy powerhouse using Quickbooks. Think Exxon, Marubeni, etc. uses Quickbooks?
Focus your anger and attention on Wael, Faisal and his inner circle of employees and advisors and not basic BTU/QGEN employees.

Yeah go after the real crooks not the ones that have been doing what they were told was the right thing and trying to protect the companies. Nothing new in this blog lately must be dying for some real information.

"Seemingly only one employee left (in addition, of course, to Funzo Khan't... Who actually CAN "keep taking money from the BTU Power Company investors for doing absolutely NOTHING...) that has institutional knowledge of the following: ClownGEN, BTU Industries, BTU Ventures, etc."

Reference is not to the TOTAL NUMBER of employees left in the company.

Reference is to the number of employees that have been MATERIALLY involved and consequently have significant knowledge regarding the chain of companies Al Mazeedi has established in Massachusetts to run his business "empire":

BTU Ventures, Inc.
BTU Ventures Holdings (USA)Inc.
QGEN (USA) Inc.

Alex and Faisal are obviously not the decision-makers. They are, however, instrumental in helping Al Mazeedi carry out his plans. Stephens, Cain, and Le formerly fell into the category described above.

"... the ones that have been doing what they were told was the right thing and trying to protect the companies."

QUESTIONS
1. Who told them it was "the right thing"? Presumably Wael.
2. What actions are they taking to "protect the company"? Is "protecting the company" referring to the economic interests of the investors? Is "the company" BTU Power Company?
3. Being Controller (Alex) and Chief Operating Officer (Faisal)ostensibly means that both individuals are not merely worker-bees.

OBSERVATIONS
It's not every day that institutions like one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds (Qatar Investment Authority) file a petition to liquidate an Al Mazeedi-controlled company.

This is a blog, not a newspaper.
